I did the thing!

I am a redheaded asexual who quite frankly doesn't know what he is doing.

the worst kind of misogyny

is the kind that seeps out of your uncle’s mouth at christmas dinner

or from your favorite movie you’ve watched 500 times

or that snide comment your cousin makes on vacation

from the people you trust

and so quick

so slickly spoken

you barely catch it

dont-just-go-pink:

This October, thousands of people are going to be wearing pink shirts, ribbons, bracelets, headbands, etc. for Breast Cancer Awareness. However, October isn’t just Breast Cancer Awareness Month! October is the month to spread awareness for:
AIDS
Spina Bifida
Down Syndrome
Celiac Disease
Selective Mutism
Bullying Prevention
Breast Cancer Awareness
Rett Syndrome
Lupus
Domestic Violence
Unfortunately, many of these awarenesses are overshadowed by the commercialism of Breast Cancer Awareness. While awarenesses shouldn’t be competitive, I am here to remind everyone that other awarenesses exist and should be supported!
Don’t just go pink!

Signal boost!
SIGNAL BOOST!
SIGNAL BOOST!
We can spread the word!
We can raise awareness for awarenesses!
WE CAN DO THIS!

While it’s not month long, the first week of October is also Trichotillomania/Dermatillomania awareness week! Its aim is to raise awareness for sufferers of Body Focused Repetitive Behaviours (BFRB). It also has an awareness ribbon, and there’s more information about the week here too! (Unfortunately, the link is for last year’s BFRB week, though it’s set to take place this year too)

Ah, if I can jump in here, the end of October this year is also the beginning of Asexual Awareness Week (Oct. 26–Nov. 1)! It’s not a disease or a problem like many of the other things on this list, but I thought I’d mention it, if that’s all right!
As far as I know we don’t have a ribbon, though there’s plenty of ace merchandise for allies and aces, and an ace flag as well!
(Sorry if this isn’t appropriate to add: I definitely don’t want to take away from the other very good causes on this post by any means!)

No you may certainly not jump in with another awareness! And marianope, what makes you think that you can add your awareness!?
Kidding, obviously!
The whole point of this campaign is to raise awareness for the awarenesses! I listed ten that I could find but seriously, if you know of any other awarenesses in October, please add them!

Let’s raise awareness for all of the things, tumblr!

THAT’S THE SPIRIT!

this has been on my dash all day and I just got it now

Someone please explain this.

The first one is the chemical formula for regular granulated sugar, the bottom is the chemical formula for sugar cubes and the 3 as the power means cube so there you go
